The Intellect Benjamin Beats Drops Official Music Video for ‘Roar Like A Lion’

When the lion roars, the whole jungle listens. Roar Like a Lion isn’t just the title of my new EP – it’s a declaration. It’s courage in the face of adversity. It’s boldness carved from pain and purpose. And it drops May 2nd, in honour of my brother Carl, whose spirit still walks beside me.

In a family of five, Carl and I were the oldest two. We had always worked closely with our mother for the good of our family and we affectionately termed ourselves as ‘The Three-Legged Stool’. For context, a three-legged stool finds its strength and balance not in symmetry, but in the equal trust and support shared by each of its parts.” Can you imagine how unbalancing it was when one integral part of the stool was physically gone? Carl was a tower of strength in my life and his influence so strong that it helped me regain balance.

So since his transition, his presence continues to uphold us with spiritual power. This EP is a tribute to his love and guidance – his words echoing still: “Roar, Benjie. Don’t hold back. Speak the Truth.”And so I did.

Roar Like a Lion is not just music – it’s message. It’s militancy. It’s the Lion of Judah roaring through the frontline of Babylon, backed by the fire of Rastafari and the thunder of real roots reggae. Recorded and mixed at Frontline 12 Studio in Ethiopia, every track carries the frequency of revolution and the vibration of truth.

When the chorus drops, it’s more than lyrics – it’s a chant from the soul:
